Brian Poe
Brian Poe—known to many as Unk-Tu-Amun—has lived and breathed music since childhood. He began on the organ, but everything changed the moment he heard Ernie Isley’s “Summer Breeze” and George Lynch’s iconic “In My Dreams.” From that point forward, the guitar became his voice.
A self-described Funk and R&B guitarist, Brian blends genres with ease, weaving jazz, fusion, hard rock, metal, and global influences into a sound that’s entirely his own. His music moves through every shade of funk— from raw, James Brown-style grooves to cosmic, futuristic funk-fusion—all while carrying the spiritual and cultural resonance of the Egyptian music he embraces as part of his creative expression.
Known locally as “The Pharoah,” Brian has performed alongside many of North Florida’s top musicians. He also writes and produces music for himself and for independent artists out of his aptly named studio, The Funk Factory. Beyond performing, Brian is developing his own guitar line under the Pharoah Guitars brand.
The world is about to hear much more from Unk-Tu-Amun—as he continues pushing funk boldly into the 21st century and beyond.
